Volleyball Leaders Award

A brand new course from Volleyball England to prepare Y10 and above (current Y9) students for leadership in Volleyball Activities.

  • be able to lead a volleyball specific warm up
  • be able to organise a volleyball festival
  • be able to referee small sided games
  • be able to organise and run simple volleyball developmental practices
  • help establish a safe working environment
  • know about the Volley Sport Cards and VolleySport Award Scheme

Course to be held at Cardinal Newman CHS, 930-230pm, July 7th. Students should bring their own packed lunch, but drinks, certificates and a booklet of practical ideas will be provided. Delivered by Simon Ince from Bridgewater Diamonds VC.


Practical Rugby Leadership AND Practical Football Leadership

A full day of practical ideas to help Y9 (current Y8) and above sports leaders run coaching activities and act as an official in primary age football and tag rugby events. Course to be held at William Beamont High school (Select Soccer), 13th July, 930-230pm. Students should bring their own packed lunch, but drinks, certificates and a booklet of practical ideas will be provided. Courses to be run by Andy Roberts (rugby) and Chris Sully (ex professional footballer and Bolton Academy Manager)


Basketball Leaders Awards

A full day accredited EBBA course to prepare Y9 and above students for leadership activities in basketball. Course to be held at Birchwood CHS, 14th July, 930-230pm. Students should bring their own packed lunch, but drinks, certificates and a booklet of practical ideas will be provided. Delivered by tutor Mal Casson.


Indoor Athletics Leaders

A full day course consisting of 3 Sportshall Athletics modules, supplemented by practical activities to prepare Y9 and above students for leadership activities in sportshall athletics. Course to be held at Penketh CHS, Wednesday 15th July, 930-230pm. Students should bring their own packed lunch, but drinks, certificates and a booklet of practical ideas will be provided. Delivered by SSCo Sue Jones.


Badminton AND Multi-skills

A full day course consisting of 2 modules of practical ideas to prepare Y9 and above students for leadership activities in badminton and multi-skills activities. Course to be held at Sir Thomas Boteler CE High (Ball Hall), Tuesday 7th July, 930-230pm. Students should bring their own packed lunch, but drinks, certificates and a booklet of practical ideas will be provided. Delivered by sports coaches Andy Roberts and Neil Gibson.


ASA Young Aquatics Organisers

A full day course to be run on Friday 17th July from 9.30-2.30pm, consisting of practical ideas to prepare year 9 and above students for leadership activities in swimming. Leaders will understand how to organise and run Aquatic events. The course will equip leaders with the skills to help plan, deliver and evaluate the running of an aquatic event. Leaders will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks will be provided. Pupils will receive a practical booklet and certificates. Associated costs will be a nominal fee of £5.75 per candidate to provide resources and certificates. The course will also give leaders the opportunity to volunteer within an ASA accredited Swim21 club. The Course will be run by Jon Keating.


Quick Sticks Hockey Leaders

A half day course consisting of practical ideas to prepare Y9 and above students for leadership activities in primary hockey activities. Schools with links to Lymm Hockey Club are particularly encouraged to apply for this course as leaders will subsequently be integrated into the programme. Course to be held at Lymm High School, Thursday 16th July, 930-1230pm. Drinks, certificates and a booklet of practical ideas will be provided. Delivered by England Hockey tutor.
